Creating the brand for Riverside View, Keynsham

Riverside View at Keynsham is a brand new, high-end development consisting of 95 one and two bedroom apartments. With a revamped leisure centre and gym as well as shops, bars and restaurants you have everything on your doorstep. The apartments themselves are all uniquely designed with contemporary and spacious layouts with a river or urban view. Situated between Bath and Bristol with excellent road and rail connections, Riverside View is the perfect spot for busy, modern professionals who would benefit from the fine balance between city working and county living.

Aequus Construction came to us to help with the brand identity and development for Riverside View. They also needed a website to act as the hub for their marketing (which you can find here) and a range of brand and marketing materials to support the launch of the development.

We went through our staple process when creating the branding for this project – we created a Stylescape. There are a few key items we always create when making a Stylescape including the identity which is our preferred logo design and the colours and fonts to be used. We also add a short paragraph of introductory cope and a strong strapline. To help sell the brand identity we incorporate imagery such as mock-ups of website homepages and print adverts to showcase the branding in action.

The Riverside branding project was a really exciting opportunity to infuse the surroundings and makeup of the development project into a standout modern mark. To get to any endpoint in branding and creating a mark/logo you have to tell a story in your design. With this particular, the end result was created with three ingredients.

The obvious river/water, the sunset for the colour as it was about the view, and the architecture. When you look at the logo you can see how the river/water has been integrated into the logo. The decision of the position was to reflect the view you would see out of the window with the window being the hole in the R. The orange gradient reflects the sun setting over the hills to bring a warm comforting feeling.

Then you have the lower part of the R, the left and right legs so to speak. These were angled in at the bottom to mirror the lines of the building leading to your front door. Without this story and research, we wouldn’t have got to this unique result. The logo was really well received and is a modern break from the norm of other branding that you will see from developments around Bristol and Bath.
