Designing a seamless subscription website with user experience at the core

Brand: Our Media

Who are Our Media?

Our Media is a leading special-interest content business, part of the Immediate Media Group, one of the biggest consumer businesses in the UK. Our Media’s mission is to help their audience pursue their passions through original content – in print, video and online. They have a wealth of magazines some well-known ones including BBC Science Focus, BBC Wildlife Magazine, YourHome and Cycling Plus.

The Challenge:

Our mission was to create a smooth and simple experience for the Our Media team’s new shop website. Their old subscription site felt outdated and didn’t showcase their amazing publications. It also missed key opportunities to connect with readers. It was time for a fresh start—a site designed to make subscribing easier and more enjoyable for everyone.

Design Solution:

The goal was simple, to create a website that truly showcased each publication while making it easy for readers to subscribe. A smooth and hassle-free experience was the priority, ensuring readers could explore the huge array of magazines without confusion or frustration. From clear subscription details to transparent pricing, every step was designed to build trust, make buying your go to magazine effortless, and offer great customer support.

We used Figma to design a seamless customer experience, with clear pricing as a top priority. Subscription costs needed to be easy to understand, avoiding any potential frustration. We ensured that digital, print, and combined subscription options were clearly separated while also accounting for the difference in price based on location and the tiered subscription structure. When the designs were finalised, it was over to their in-house development team to bring them to life.
