How animation increased engagement

How animation increased engagement

7th December 2022

There’s nothing more exciting than bringing something to life with animation, and consumers think it too! Since videos are one of the most successful types of content for engagement, it’s no surprise that it’s a popular tool used by marketers. A staggering 96% of people will choose to watch a video when learning about a product! So when our client, Storyhouse Egmont, needed to promote and communicate to customers their products, it was a no-brainer to use animation for increasing engagement.

The brand videos needed to be exciting and visually appealing while showcasing the content inside the magazine.

Minecraft

Got your pickaxe ready?

From creepers to the deep blue ocean, our promotional Minecraft video for Storyhouse Egmont showed their vast amount of content in a short thirty-second video.

Effortlessly, the video entertains and informs. Rather than being a big chunk of text, the animation shows the brand message and snippets of the magazine in a nutshell. You can’t deny that watching Minecraft characters soar across your screen provides instant gratification.

Check it out for yourself!

In the new world of TikTok, it’s clear that concise videos are the way forward on social media channels. The algorithm agrees too, with platforms moving towards favouring video content over static media.

Lego Explorer

The proof was in the pudding when we created a promotional video for another Storyhouse Egmont magazine brand, Lego Explorer. We displayed the educational benefits of the magazine briefly while remaining generic so that it could be applied to multiple platforms.

What do you think?

After launching, the videos were a huge success, gaining over 39k Facebook views and 343% new customer acquisitions.

“Who doesn’t like Lego? With Bopgun being appointed the creative agency to work on animating this project – it really created a great buzz within the studio.

As we know, playing is key to learning for everyone, so we had to reflect on this in the ad. So we made sure that we integrated the Lego packs with our own imaginative Lego models and presented this in a warm homely environment that kids could connect with.” – Jon Taylor, Bopgun’s Creative Director.

Disney Princess

Promoting Storyhouse Egmont’s Disney Princess brand, we communicated their brand identity in a short and sweet animation. We featured all the beloved Disney Princesses against a pink, sparkling backdrop – what’s not to love?
