2023 Bopgun Recap

2023 Bopgun Recap

21st December 2023

As we bid farewell to another eventful year, it’s time to take a moment and celebrate the incredible milestones and achievements that have defined Bopgun’s journey in 2023. From incredible projects to exciting collaborations, this year has been nothing short of extraordinary for our design agency. Here are some highlights of the year…

January

Barcelona Retreat

We kicked the year off with a retreat to Barcelona. The Bopgun team jetted out to Spain for a long weekend full of sun, sangria and fabulous architecture.

February

The month of love…

In February, we started off with a brand we love.

Our partnership with Hachette Partworks brewed up a storm as we worked together on another successful project, bringing Warhammer Stormbringer to life with a website design and build.

The first of many websites that we’d work on with them this year!

Furthermore, our partnership with Slimsticks led to our designs reaching more people worldwide through a new Middle Eastern website for their product. The team are all bilingual in Arabic now too!

Being the month of love, we also shared our love for the Napo branding we designed on socials too… How could we not?

March

Blooming partnerships, website updates and teasers

March saw a budding new partnership blossoming between us and Our Media, the beginning of an exciting project together.

From partnerships to photoshoots, during the Spring season, we found it fitting to do a bit of “Spring cleaning” on our website by adding refreshed team pictures.

Simultaneously, we teased the Dungeons and Dragons website we had been working on with Hachette Partworks, aligning with the release of the highly anticipated film in cinemas.

We even managed to coax Dexter out of bed to lend a hand with some acting for that one…

If you want to see Dexter looking extra cute while playing D&D, watch the video here.

April

Look at that vyoo

April marked the launch of another new website with one of our longstanding clients.

After bringing Vyoo Window’s brand to life, we designed and built a website that matched their high-quality products and services.

Caz took centre stage on our social media when she filmed her day in the life, which Jon kindly narrated for us, giving us a glimpse into what she gets up to in the day.

May…

The fourth be with you

May was about letting our creative side shine, with the buzz of Mayday festivities and our Star Wars takeover.

The highlight of May has to be during our May day walk when we unexpectedly encountered some AT-ATs, perfectly timed for May the Fourth.

As if that wasn’t enough, a stormtrooper even made a stop for a casual coffee chat, making May quite the month.

Naturally, we couldn’t resist sharing these extraordinary experiences with you all on our social media.

All these Star Wars distractions didn’t get in the way of our exciting projects with London & Country though.

June

Kitchen branding & Bopgun goes global again…

As summer came along, our team was busy collaborating with Saltford Kitchens.

Saltford Kitchens underwent a complete transformation and rebranded itself as Kitchens by Nolte.

From logo to brand guidelines, we created a brand identity for Kitchens by Nolte that was more than just kitchens – it was a place for family, friends and connections.

Along with that, we designed and built a website that isn’t just a display but a hub for inspiration.

Slimsticks marked their big debut in the Middle East while spreading our designs across the globe! Our team are also very fluent in Arabic now, too.

July

Branding buzz and Puzzler Media launch

In July, we started brewing up some exciting branding – keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Our team was bustling with riddles and building a website for Puzzler Media, which also went live in July, marking another successful milestone for us!

We also were lucky enough to receive our own puzzle to play…

If you’re up for a challenge, head over to our blog post and try it out for yourself.

How quickly can you complete it?

August

Milestones and more collaborations

August was a month filled with anniversaries and big design projects. Our Head of Digital, Lloyd, hit the impressive 10-year mark at Bopgun! With 10 years of development, comes plenty of websites.

Check out the awesome websites he’s built over the past decade.

Amidst the celebrations, we strapped our rugby boots on to help Vyoo Windows with their partnership with Bath Rugby.

From van and stadium signage to brand collateral, we hit a home run for Vyoo Windows with this project.

Teaming up with Bath’s Freestyle Designs on this was an exciting collaboration for us.

Together, we embarked on a project to design unique signage exclusively crafted for Vyoo’s stand at Bath Rugby.

Our main aim was to ensure that the signs made a significant impact and stood out prominently within the stadium.

Witnessing our design illuminated at Bath Rugby has been an incredible moment for our team.

The vibrant display of colours and the striking signage make it one of the standout moments of the year!

September

Dungeons and Dragons goes live

September was a blast with the launch of the national UK Dungeons & Dragons website we built for Hachette Partworks, taking gaming to the next level for all the enthusiasts out there!

Alongside that, we helped Hachette Partworks go across the pond with another website.

The USA saw the debut of the Warhammer Stormbringer.

As well as we launched an impressive system for our client Up & Under: a portable sports register accessible via Amazon Fire tablets, catering to their coaches’ on-the-go needs.

In addition, we began an exciting new website project, delving into the world of AR…

October

Revival projects

October bustled with activity as we geared up for an in-house marketing blitz inspired by Speed Dating, ready to exhibit at the Building Brands marketing event in Exeter.

Part of this preparation involved ordering a rather large delivery of love hearts to the studio for our stand.

We were also excitedly expecting our very own Bopgun merchandise to arrive too…

Moreover, behind the scenes, our team was diligently preparing for the launch of the Reclaim Magazine website and email marketing.

Every final detail was carefully added, with the scheduled go-live date set in early November.

November

15 years of Bopgun!

Guess what?

In November we hit a fantastic milestone of 15 years – woo-hoo!

To mark the occasion, we treated ourselves to a delightful meal at Coppa Club.

What better way to celebrate than with fantastic food and wonderful company?

We gathered old photos of the team from 15 years ago, alongside our current appearances and predictions of how we might look in another 15 years – what do you think?

Thanks, AI for helping us with those…

December
